VF-1A Super Valkyrie

Another release from Yellow Submarine's 1/144 Macross line of kits. This is an original, not a recast, and the molding quality shows as much. Each piece is crisply cast with little flash present. Sink holes and surface imprefections are completely absent. The assembly guide is clear and the exploded diagrams provide adequate placement details. When completed, the Valkyrie shouldn't be much more than 4 inches or so tall. If you want something larger, go for the 1/72 Hasegawa kits. This one is excellent, however, if your collection already sports mecha in the same scale. I'm not clear at the moment if the decals are water-slide or dry transfer. They might even be stickers. I haven't popped them out of the bag to check. Their detail is good, however. |
